(GF for short, “gold filled”) is a process in which an outer layer of 14 carat (585) gold is permanently bonded to a metal core made of brass. The gold layer is approx. 100 times thicker than the usual gold plating in Germany. Gold-filled jewelry is just as durable and robust as pure gold jewelry, but considerably cheaper.
